ABOUT US

In 2017, long before we imagined building programs together, a simple Monday night tango class quietly planted the seed for what would eventually become our shared life’s work.

Marc Adams, LMSW, MBA

Marc Adams brings more than 28 years of professional expertise in the high-stakes banking industry to the transition into his current role as a licensed clinical mental health professional.

Alongside his corporate career, Marc pursued intensive artistic and cultural study—training in Flamenco guitar, dance with a primary focus on Argentine tango, and participating in immersive study-abroad programs to become fluent in multiple languages.

Throughout it all, one thread remained constant: a deep commitment to inner work and a calling to support others in discovering new perspectives and new ways of being.

Professional Bio

At the time, Marc was a banking professional and tango dancer organizing community events through InterNations, a global expat community.

Wendy was a clinical therapist and researcher, quietly observing the dance floor with a question forming in her mind:

Can Argentine tango transform habitual patterns of interpersonal relating?

Neither of us knew that this question and the organizing impulse — the researcher and the community builder — would one day converge.

Wendy Balconi, Ph.D., LCSW

Wendy holds a Ph.D. in Depth Psychology with an emphasis in Somatic Studies. A licensed clinical specialist, researcher, and dedicated tango dancer, she views the body as a gateway to inner wisdom, creativity, and transformation.

Her doctoral dissertation, Solvitur Ambulando: An Embodied Experience of Argentine Tango, explored the psychological and transformative dynamics of the dance relationship. Through qualitative research, she demonstrated how tango reveals unconscious relational patterns, challenges defenses, and fosters authentic connection—serving as a powerful somatic and psychological pathway toward self-awareness and embodied integration.

Begin Without Stepping Onto a Dance Floor

You don't need to know how to dance. You don't even need a partner.

Because you are already dancing in all your relationships.
  • In conversations.
  • In moments of closeness.
  • In conflict.
  • In silence.
The real question is: Are you aware of how you move and relate to others?

Do you notice when you lean toward intimacy — or subtly pull away?
When you try to control — or long to surrender?
How you respond when things feel uncertain?
What your body does to protect, brace, soften, or shut down when emotions rise?

Most of these patterns happen automatically. Beneath thought. Beneath intention. In the nervous system.

Every Relationship is a Dance

Our online Transformational Tango program was born from years of lived experience, research, teaching, and clinical practice.

We created this program for:

Tango dancers who want to deepen awareness and psychological insight of what they are already experiencing on the dance floor.

For people who have never danced a single step — and don’t need to.

Because tango, is used an allegory for relationships this program does not require you to have dance experience or a dance partner.

You simply need curiosity about how you relate.

Because whether on a dance floor or in everyday life, we are always in relationship — initiating and responding, trusting and controlling, protecting and opening, holding on and letting go.

Every moment we are attempting to adjust, embrace or improvise what is unfolding between us.

This program will help you identify where you over-work, under-attend, withdraw, pursue, collapse, dominate, or disconnect.

Co-Founders of Creative Depth and Transformational Tango

Marc Adams, LMSW, MBA

(Co-Founder and Course Instructor)

Marc is a clinically licensed master social worker in private practice in Scottsdale, AZ, specializing in existential and Jungian-oriented counseling. His work invites clients to explore life’s deeper questions, uncover meaning beneath the struggle, and awaken to new possibilities of being. Through a depth-oriented lens, Marc helps individuals transform habitual patterns and outdated narratives into authentic, embodied ways of living and relating.

With more than two decades of experience as a dedicated Argentine tango dancer, Marc brings a rare and dynamic integration of psychology and embodiment into his clinical practice, Existential Counseling. His dance journey began in classical ballet and evolved through a lifelong exploration of diverse cultural forms, each shaping his nuanced understanding of rhythm, connection, and human expression.

Ultimately, Argentine tango became one of Marc’s most profound teachers. The attunement, presence, and responsiveness that define the dance also mirror the same principles essential to the therapeutic relationship. In his work, Marc integrates these embodied insights to foster deep self-awareness, emotional resonance, and transformative connection both within oneself and in relationship to others.

As a course instructor and co-founder, Marc offers an approach to self development that is as intellectually rich as it is experientially alive, inviting participants to engage in a meaningful and transformative process.

Wendy Balconi, Ph.D., LCSW

(Co-Founder and Course Instructor)

Wendy has a Ph.D. in Depth Psychology with an emphasis in Somatic Studies. As a clinical licensed specialist, researcher, and avid tango dancer she views the body as a living gateway to inner wisdom, creativity, and transformation. Wendy maintains a thriving private practice in Scottsdale, AZ, where her work centers on embodied expressions and the integration of psyche and soma.

Her doctoral dissertation, Solvitur Ambulando: An Embodied Experience of Argentine Tango explored the psychological dynamics and transformative potential of the dance relationship. Through in-depth qualitative research, Wendy illuminated how the practice of tango reveals unconscious patterns of relating, exposes psychological defenses, and invites the possibility of genuine connection and wholeness. Her findings demonstrate that tango can serve as a powerful psychological and somatic tool, one that helps individuals identify habitual ways of being, deepen self-awareness, and move toward meaningful and integrative embodied transformation.

Drawing from her extensive clinical experience and research, Wendy designs workshops, training programs, and individual sessions that blend depth psychology, somatic awareness, and creative movement. Her programs support dancers, therapists, and seekers alike in reconnecting with their instinctual intelligence and reclaiming the body as an instrument of healing, imagination, and more soulful presence.

Wendy’s approach invites participants to engage life as a dance, and as a living dialogue between the conscious and unconscious. Enduring transformation unfolds not through analysis alone, but through the wisdom and language of the lived-body.

Through embodied exercises and powerful insights drawn from tango and relational psychology, you will begin to see how you relate — and how you can relate differently.

If you’re ready to:

  • Transform recurring relationship patterns
  • Increase deep, embodied self-awareness
  • Communicate with greater clarity and confidence
  • Cultivate trust, safety, and authentic connection
  • Respond rather than react in emotionally charged moments
  • Illuminate patterns of leading and following in everyday life
